It's been a short while since I posted, but let me tell you, a lot has gone on. Because of this, I saw fit to post a little update and catch you all up on my life's activities. February is almost over (can someone tell me where that month went?) and already, 2019 has been a year of ups and downs.
First and most importantly, my new job! Let me tell you, I've had a fair few jobs in my life and wrote a blog post - here - about how I've always struggled to really settle. After considering where my future is headed, I pondered the idea of working in an office and living the 9-to-5 lifestyle. That would never really be me though, would it now? So here I am, back in retail again. Here's the thing - I get every Saturday off of work, there is no catch! My plan is to use these Saturdays to the best of my advantage, hopefully meaning as many new blog posts and content as I can physically produce (please don't hold me to that!)
Another benefit to having excellent working hours means more time for gigs! Some of you may have noticed the neglected 'music' tab, which I have big plans for. Live shows and album reviews should be coming your way very soon.
As some of you may know, when you change jobs there is usually a long period of time between pay days (it will be two months for me) and it really helps to save every penny. It's been a long old while since I went on a full-blown shopping spree, but I have to say it feels good! I've pulled out old favourites from my wardrobe, as well as resisted temptation from the draws of fast fashion. Surprisingly, putting less pressure on myself to follow 'trends' and spending less time trawling through high street stores really has had a positive effect on my mental well-being. I would certainly recommend.
Finally, some self indulgence! I am nearing ever so close to my Instagram follow goal of 2,000 followers. For the whole of 2018 I skated on the brink of 1,900 followers, which seemed to plateau for the whole of the year. Don't get me wrong, I have said before, the number of followers you have does not matter! I still wholly stand by this statement, however, all I have ever wanted is to share my blog and images I truly am proud of with as many people as possible. Being proud of yourself and wanting to share that is definitely not a shameful thing. Having such a lovely positive following and support system is amazing, I've met such beautiful and amazing friends through Instagram and I never have a bad thing to say about the platform. I am always searching for ways to grow and develop with my blog, but you had better believe I will always stay true to myself!
I don't really know where I was going with this post when I first began typing, and if you made it to this far: I salute you! The main reason my fingers started tapping is because I wanted to share these bad-ass shots from today, mixed with the cloud of happiness and positivity I am riding on after such a wonderful week.
