Oh Bondage... Up Yours!

Hello everyone!

I'm back and here to hit you with a fashion-based post. I love talking to you all about what's going on with my thoughts and feelings, but sometimes you can't beat a good old chat about fashion. Everyone who is reading this will be able to relate to the feeling of purchasing a new item, and knowing that it was the thing you have been missing in your life that you didn't even realise was missing. This new Hades jumper is exactly that!

Hades are a brand that I have known about for many years, but are completely brand new to my wardrobe. Knitwear is my passion - as lame as that sounds, it's true. My knitwear collection makes me so happy, and a piece from Hades was exactly what I was looking for. Anyone who is familiar with the brand will know their knitwear is more on the pricey side, so when I was considering purchasing I knew that I needed to be more than 100% sure that I couldn't live without it.

On the topic of the price range of Hades knitwear, personally, I have to say they are worth the money. I have had the best possible experience with the brand, in terms of the actual product, as well as the communication with them. Their knitwear pieces are all made to order, so time is taken to construct the knit before posting (this specific knit I pre-ordered with a 2 month waiting period). However, the factory unfortunately had to close down due to COVID-19 and production was put on hold. The communication that I had with the brand throughout this time period was beyond incredible... I was sent photographs from inside the factories of the garments being constructed, as well as advice as to when I should expect to receive my own. I am beyond thrilled with the service I received from Hades, and believe this is what should be expected from every high-end brand!

In these photographs, obviously, I had to style my Scottish knit with my beloved kilt I found on Depop (for an absolute bargain, I might add!) I felt the perfect combination of 'cute-yet-badass' in this outfit, and can't wait to style this knitwear with so many other pieces in my wardrobe. Up until discovering this knit, lilac has always been a colour I have shied away from - and now I am left wondering why.

If I hadn't already given you enough reasons to fall in love with this jumper, the link to the British punk scene was the deal breaker for me. 'Oh Bondage Up Yours' is one of my favourite songs of all time, and never fails to make me want to dance. Poly Styrene was a definite icon of her time, and to know this jumper was made in collaboration with her daughter gives it that extra special feel.

Thank you for reading this short, but sweet, post. It feels good to just talk solely on my love for a specific item of clothing (as I said, it takes a lot to get me this excited, but I hope you understand exactly why).

Until next time,

Jumper - HADES

Kilt - Depop
